What it is
Keyword Suggestions shows you keywords your domain is already ranking for in Google, but are not currently being tracked in Keyword.com.
It connects directly to your Google Search Console (GSC) account and pulls real performance data, including:
Impressions
Clicks
CTR
Average position
This allows you to turn organic ranking data into actionable tracking opportunities.
💡 Requirement: Your Google Search Console account must be connected.
Why it matters
Most websites rank for far more keywords than they actively track.
Without Keyword Suggestions, you may be:
Missing long-tail opportunities
Overlooking keywords generating impressions
Ignoring terms ranking on page 2
Losing CTR opportunities on high-impression keywords
Keyword Suggestions helps you close the gap between what Google shows and what you track.
How it works
Keyword Suggestions pulls data directly from your connected Google Search Console property.
It compares:
Keywords your domain appears for in GSC
vsKeywords already tracked in your projects
Any keyword ranking in Google but not tracked will appear in this list.
Each row includes:
Keyword
Impressions
Clicks
CTR
Average position
You can filter, analyze, and add selected keywords directly into your projects.
Connecting your Google Search Console profile
Keyword Suggestions requires a connected Google Search Console (GSC) account.
To connect your GSC profile:
Go to Keyword Intelligence
Click Connect GSC Account
Authenticate with Google
Select the GSC property you want to use
Choose the date range for pulling GSC data
(Optional) Enable Auto-add keywords to existing project
Auto-adding GSC keywords
If you enable Auto-add Suggested Keywords to Current Project, Group or Tag, the system will automatically add qualifying keywords from GSC into your selected project.
You can define predefined filters for auto-add based on:
Average position
Impressions
CTR
For example:
Only auto-add keywords with average position between 8-20
Only auto-add keywords with impressions above a certain threshold
Once you configure your rules, click Apply settings.
As soon as you apply, qualifying keywords are automatically added to the selected project.
Managing removed keyword suggestions
If you see suggested keywords you do not want to track, you can permanently remove them from future suggestions.
To remove a keyword:
Select the suggested keyword
Click Don’t suggest again
The keyword will be marked as removed and will no longer appear in Keyword Suggestions.
If you need to review or restore removed keywords:
Click the Settings icon
Select View removed keyword list
From there, you can manage the list.
‼️ Important limitations
Only one Google account can be connected at a time.
If you switch Google accounts, data collection will stop for projects linked to the disconnected account.
The connected Google account must have access to the relevant GSC properties.
For full details on Google account limitations and connection rules, see Integrating Google Search Console account
Filtering options
You can refine results using filters such as:
Term (contains / does not contain)
Average position
Word count
Impressions
Clicks
CTR
You can also save filter presets for recurring workflows.
How to add keywords to tracking
Navigate to Google SERP Tracking
Click the Keyword Intelligence tab
Select Keyword Suggestions
Apply filters as needed
Select keywords:
Use the + icon to add individually
Use checkboxes for bulk add
Choose the target project + add your keyword settings (region, language, location and device)
Confirm and Add Keywords
Once added, keywords begin tracking based on your project’s update schedule.
How to use this strategically
Here are high-impact ways to use Keyword Suggestions:
1. Find page 2 opportunities
Filter for:
Average position between 8–20
These keywords are often easiest to push into Top 10.
2. Improve CTR on high-impression keywords
Filter for:
High impressions
Low CTR
These are candidates for:
Title optimization
Meta description improvements
Rich snippet targeting
3. Capture long-tail wins
Filter for:
Word count ≥ 3
Long-tail keywords often convert better and are easier to rank.
4. Expand tracking coverage
If your tracked keyword list is small compared to GSC data, this tool helps scale coverage without guesswork.
💡 Important Notes:
Data reflects Google Search Console metrics.
GSC numbers may not match 100% in real time, as GSC updates periodically.
Keywords shown here are not tracked until you explicitly add them.
If GSC is not connected, this method will not be available.
Best practices
Review Keyword Suggestions monthly.
Add keywords into a dedicated “GSC Discoveries” group for monitoring.
Combine with Visibility Score to measure impact over time.
After adding, monitor 7-day and 30-day movement columns for progress.
