Discover new keywords to track using Keyword Intelligence. Find keywords you're ranking for, uncover related terms, and analyze competitor keywords in Google SERP Tracking.

Updated this week

What it is

Keyword Intelligence is a keyword discovery tool built into Google SERP Tracking.

It helps you find new keywords to add to your projects using three research methods:

  1. Keyword Suggestions - Find keywords your domain is ranking for but not currently tracking (via Google Search Console).

  2. Related Keywords - Generate keyword ideas from a seed term.

  3. Competitor Keywords - Discover keywords competitors are ranking for.

This feature is designed to expand your keyword coverage and eliminate blind spots in your tracking strategy.

πŸ’‘ Note: Keyword Intelligence currently works with Google SERP Tracking only.

Why it matters

Most teams only track a fraction of the keywords they actually rank for.

Keyword Intelligence helps you:

  • Identify missed ranking opportunities

  • Expand topic coverage

  • Discover high-value competitor gaps

  • Turn GSC data into trackable keywords

  • Strengthen SEO and PPC strategies

Instead of guessing what to track next, you can base decisions on real ranking and search data.

How it works

Keyword Intelligence offers three research methods, each with different data sources and filtering options.

1. Keyword suggestions

(What are you ranking for but not tracking?)

Pulls data directly from your connected Google Search Console account and shows:

  • Keywords your domain ranks for

  • That are not yet tracked in Keyword.com

  • Along with impressions, clicks, CTR, and average position

Best used for:

  • Surfacing hidden long-tail wins

  • Finding keywords in positions 8–20

  • Identifying high-impression keywords with low CTR

2. Related keywords

(Expand from a seed keyword)

Enter a seed term and receive semantically related keywords based on:

  • Selected location

  • Selected language

Each result includes:

  • Search volume

  • Competition

  • CPC

Best used for:

  • Content expansion

  • New project setup

  • Topic clustering

  • PPC research

3. Competitor keywords

(What are competitors ranking for?)

Enter a competitor domain or URL and discover:

  • Keywords they rank for

  • Search volume

  • Competition

  • CPC

Best used for:

  • Identifying keyword gaps

  • Reverse-engineering competitor strategy

  • Expanding into commercially valuable terms

Filtering & managing results

Each method includes built-in filtering tools.

Depending on the method, you can filter by:

  • Term

  • Word count

  • Search volume

  • Competition

  • CPC

  • Impressions

  • Clicks

  • CTR

  • Average position

You can:

  • Add keywords individually

  • Bulk-select and add

  • Add to multiple projects

Filters can also be saved for reuse, making ongoing keyword research faster and more consistent.

Setup & where to find it

  1. Go to Google SERP Tracking

  2. Click the Keyword Intelligence tab

  3. Select one of the three methods:

    • Keyword Suggestions

    • Related Keywords

    • Competitor Keywords

From there, apply filters and add selected keywords directly to your tracking projects.

Best practices

To get the most value from Keyword Intelligence:

  • Run Keyword Suggestions monthly to catch new ranking terms

  • Focus on keywords ranking between positions 8-20 for fast wins

  • Use search volume + competition filters to avoid noise

  • Add competitor keywords to a separate group for comparison

  • Combine with Share of Voice and Visibility Score for strategic analysis
