Shared Projects: Live Client Dashboards

Create shareable live dashboards for clients with controlled visibility and real-time data.

What it is

A Shared Project, previously called a ViewKey, is a live, read-only dashboard of your Project.

It allows you to share real-time ranking data with clients, stakeholders, or team members without giving them login access.

Shared Projects automatically reflect your project configuration and update whenever rankings change.

Why it matters

Shared Projects are the primary reporting surface of Keyword.com.

They allow you to:

  • Deliver live SEO dashboards

  • Provide transparent client reporting

  • Avoid manual exports

  • White-label reports

  • Embed dashboards into client portals

  • Secure access with passwords

For agencies, Shared Projects are what clients actually see.

How it works

A Shared Project mirrors your Project.

This means it reflects:

  • Visible columns

  • Sorting

  • Filters

  • Position buckets

  • Date settings

  • Overview tab visibility

  • Top Pages tab visibility

‼️ Important: Any change you make in the project affects the Shared Project immediately. There is no separate configuration layer.

Creating a Shared Project

  1. Open a Project

  2. Click Share

  3. Copy the Shared Project link

You can share:

  • Direct link

  • Embedded code

  • Branded version

What appears in a Shared Project

A Shared Project can display:

  • Keyword Ranking Table

  • The project dashboards enabled in the share settings

  • Charts included in those dashboards

You control dashboard visibility using the individual toggle for each dashboard in the project’s share settings.

Controlling what clients see

1. Control visible columns

Go to:

Settings → Table

Select the columns you want visible.

Columns selected here determine what appears in:

  • Shared Project

  • PDF exports

  • Scheduled reports

2. Choose which dashboards to share

Each dashboard has its own toggle in the project’s share settings. This lets you decide exactly which dashboard views appear in the client report.

  1. Open the Project.

  2. Click Share.

  3. Find the list of project dashboards in the share settings.

  4. Enable the toggle for each dashboard you want clients to see.

  5. Disable the toggle for each dashboard you want to exclude.

This is useful if:

  • Clients only need selected ranking data

  • Different clients need different reporting views

  • You want minimal reporting

  • You want executive-style dashboards

  • You want to keep an internal dashboard out of the client report

The previous fixed Overview and Top Pages visibility controls have been replaced by per-dashboard sharing toggles. If an Overview or Top Pages dashboard should appear in the Shared Project, enable that dashboard’s individual toggle.

Important: Check the Shared Project after changing the dashboard toggles to confirm that the client report contains only the intended dashboards.

3. Sorting & filters

Shared Projects mirror:

  • Default table sorting

  • Active filters

  • Position bucket configuration

  • Date comparison settings

If you change these inside the project, the Shared Project updates automatically.

White-label branding

You can brand Shared Projects with your own company details.

Account-Level Branding

Go to:

Settings → Shared Project Brand Settings

You can:

  • Hide “Verified by Keyword.com”

  • Add Company Name

  • Add Company URL

  • Add Logo URL

  • Add Company Description

  • Configure white-label domain options

Project-level override

For client-specific branding:

  1. Open Shared View Settings

  2. Under Branding, choose Custom settings

  3. Enter custom branding

This allows branding customization per client.

Shared Project domain options

You can customize the domain used for Shared Projects.

Options may include:

  • Default Keyword.com Shared Project link

  • White-label domain

  • Custom domain configurations

  • Native CNAME setup (for larger accounts)

Domain configuration is managed inside Brand Settings.

For advanced setups, refer to White-Label Domains & Custom CNAME Setup.

Password protecting a Shared Project

You can secure a Shared Project with a password.

To enable this add-on:

  1. Open Shared View Settings

  2. Toggle Require a Password

  3. Enter password

  4. Click Save

💡 Notes:

  • Existing Shared Project links remain the same

  • Password can be updated anytime

  • If using white-labeling, the password screen may still display Keyword.com branding

Embedding a Shared Project (client portals)

You can embed a Shared Project directly into your website.

Steps:

  1. Open Project

  2. Click Share

  3. Copy Embed Code

  4. Paste into your webpage

The embedded dashboard:

  • Updates automatically

  • Mirrors project settings

  • Supports white-label branding

Common use cases:

  • Agency client portals

  • SaaS dashboards

  • Internal reporting portals

How “Last Updated” works

The Shared Project displays the last update time of your project.

Important:

  • This reflects the most recently updated keyword

  • It mirrors the project dashboard

  • Manual refreshes override automatic updates

If you trigger an on-demand refresh, the Shared Project reflects that update.

Best practices

  • Finalize column settings before sharing

  • Remove unnecessary metrics for executive dashboards

  • Use password protection for client links

  • Configure white-label branding before distribution

  • Test the Shared Project in incognito before sending

  • Avoid changing sorting after clients are trained on a format
