Exporting Ranking Data (PDF, CSV, Text)

Download ranking data in multiple formats for external reporting and analysis.

Updated this week

What it is

Keyword.com allows you to manually export your ranking data at any time.

You can download:

  • PDF reports

  • CSV files

  • Text exports

PDF & CSV Exports can generate a snapshot of your data based on your current project configuration. TXT Export generates a list of all keywords in the project only without metrics.

This is different from Scheduled Reports, which automate recurring email delivery.

Why it matters

Manual exports are useful when you need:

  • A one-time client report

  • A snapshot for a meeting

  • Raw data for analysis

  • An offline archive

  • A quick executive summary

Exports give you immediate access to your ranking data without setting up automation.

Available export formats

1. PDF

Best for:

  • Executive reporting

  • Client presentations

  • Clean, formatted SEO summaries

  • Sharing via email manually

PDF exports reflect:

  • Visible columns

  • Active filters

  • Sorting

  • Position buckets

  • Current report date

2. CSV

Best for:

  • Internal analysis

  • Spreadsheet workflows

  • Data teams

  • Advanced reporting models

CSV exports provide structured data suitable for Excel or Google Sheets.

3. Text

Best for:

  • Exporting a clean list of keywords

  • Sharing keyword sets only

  • Migrating keywords to another tool

  • Quick copy/paste use

‼️ Important:

A Text export generates a list of all keywords in the project only.

It does not include:

  • Rankings

  • Metrics

  • Search volume

  • Movement data

  • URLs

It is purely a keyword list.

How to export ranking data

To export:

  1. Open a Project

  2. Click Export

  3. Choose:

    • PDF

    • CSV

    • Text

The file will download immediately. You will have the option to send the download to your email, if you see it will take long.

When exporting a CSV you can select a date range to get historical results.

What gets included in an export

Exports reflect your current project state.

This includes:

  • Visible columns

  • Sorting order

  • Filters applied

  • Comparison timeframe

  • Report date

  • Ranking bucket configuration

  • Historical ranking (CSV only)

⚠️ Important: Exports are not static templates. They mirror your table configuration at the time of export.

Controlling which columns appear in exports

To control what appears in exported files:

  1. Go to Settings → Table

  2. Select which columns should be visible

The selected columns determine what appears in:

  • PDF exports

  • ViewKeys

  • Scheduled Reports

If you change visible columns later, future exports will reflect the updated configuration.

Using custom report date for PDF exports

You can export historical snapshots.

To change report date:

  1. Click Filter

  2. Select Change Report Date

  3. Choose the desired date

  4. Then export to PDF

This allows you to:

  • Export monthly SEO snapshots

  • Create before/after comparisons

  • Archive historical performance
