First either create a new project, from the left menu "+ Add Project" or navigate into an existing project.

Second, click on the "+ Add Keywords" button if the form is not yet open.

To add in a keyword you must input your domain name and your keywords into the form, and select the Google region you wish to track.

You must select the corresponding language with the appropriate region if you decide to track a different Google region.

Change Location

Entering a location will make Keyword.com search the keyword from your desired location. We can track from country-level all the way down to ZIP/postal code.


This should be used if you plan on tracking keywords that rely on local traffic (i.e. "dentist" with a search location of Toronto).

Google Snack Pack & Tracking Local Listings

We offer full support for tracking local listings. We can track the "Snack Pack" within the organic listings and also maps.google.com directly.

We track local listings with both the URL and the GMB name. In the case that there is no website URL listed, we will try to match the GMB name.

Please make sure you add a GMB name to ensure proper tracking.

What is the Snack Pack?

The Google Snack Pack is the pack of local listing results that appear before the organic listings.

Tracking the Snack Pack

Simply toggle off the "Ignore Local Listings" to include the snack pack in your results. This will make it so that we count the Google Snack pack listings as the top 3 results.

For already existing keywords:
Step 1: Tick the box at the far right of the keyword you want to modify
Step 2: Click Edit
Step 3: Toggle off Ignore Local Listing
Step 4: Enter Search Location and/or GMB Name Tracking
Step 5: Click Done

Tracking Local Maps

Google local maps (maps.google.com) can be tracked within the "Google Local Maps" tab.

Tracking Mobile & Google Mobile AMP Tracking

Simply select 'Mobile' when adding in keywords and we will track the mobile SERPs instead. You can also choose to add both desktop and mobile in one go.

AMP accelerated page tracking is supported by Keyword.com's mobile tracking and will happen automatically.

Adding Tags on Keywords

Tags can be used to categorize any number of keywords in a group, and each keyword can have multiple tags (possible usage: group keywords with a region or some kind of priority).

When adding new keywords, new or existing tags can be attached to the keyword in the Tags window.

You can also add tags to keywords you are already tracking by selecting the keyword(s) then clicking on Manage Tags. You can then click on existing tags to add them to the window or type in new tags.

Remember to hit enter after typing in a new tag to make sure the tag is added when you click done.

Bulk Importer

Multiple domains/keywords can be added in using the "Bulk Importer" feature. Once this option is turned on, you can add in your domains/keywords in the format "domain.com:keyword:tag" (one per line).

You may choose not to include tags as this part is optional.

Exact Feature

Selecting Exact URL will set it so we only report back your inputted URL. Otherwise, we will report back the first ranking URL we find by default.

Unwanted Duplicate URLs

Keyword.com will filter out duplicates automatically. If you are seeing duplicate URL/keyword combinations it may be because you have added some keywords with the ‘exact’ option for a specific page and others without 'exact' on the broad domain.

The system may have found the same URL ranking on the keywords without the 'exact' option as the duplicate keywords where you are tracking an exact page.

You may choose to keep both entries, as the one without 'exact' may see a change of ranking URL if another page on the domain rises higher in the rankings.

Adding a URL with encoded characters

You want to track a link with an encoded hex character e.g. cl.linkedin.com/in/nicolás-palacios-52528a21/ but when you add it in you get an anomalous link or simply no ranking.

First find the URL to track, then copy the link address. In this case, you'll get: cl.linkedin.com/in/nicol%C3%A1s-palacios-52528a21

Now, paste the URL in and select "Exact URL" when adding the URL and Keywords.

HTTP and HTTPs

Keyword.com will pick up both HTTP and HTTPs versions automatically so there is no further action required to track this.

If Google has not indexed the HTTPs version yet, we would pick up and return the HTTP version. This will automatically be corrected once the HTTPs version is indexed.

If the keyword is unranked, we will also default to showing the HTTP version of the URL.

Tracking YouTube Videos

YouTube videos can be tracked on both YouTube.com and Google.com depending on where you enter them.

To track YouTube videos on YouTube, add Video ID and your Keywords under 'YouTube Videos'. Your keywords will display a YouTube logo beside the keyword.

To track YouTube videos on Google, simply add the YouTube URL as a normal keyword and select the Exact URL setting in the Enter URL drop-down menu. The URL must be entered as it is indexed and should look like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hm-08DIMTT4

Editing Keywords after they are added

To edit a keyword, simply click on it to select it. A blue settings drawer will open from the bottom. Here you should click 'Edit'.

A panel will open where you can Update the URL, Region, Language, and Local Keyword Settings. You can do this on multiple keywords at once. Click done to save your changes!

Pro tip: You can select a range of keywords by selecting one, holding shift then selecting another. All the keywords in the range will now be selected!
