Citations

Updated this week

The Citations Page shows you where and how your brand is being referenced across AI-generated search results. This goes beyond just mentions — it reveals the actual domains, URLs, and sources that contributed to your visibility and were cited in AI content. It’s a powerful tool for understanding the sources that influence your presence in large language model (LLM) outputs.

Top-level stats

At the top of the page, you’ll find a quick snapshot of your citation performance:

  • Total Citations – The number of times your brand was cited across AI results.

  • Unique URLs – How many distinct URLs contributed to those citations.

  • Unique Domains – The number of unique root domains referencing your brand.

  • Brands Found – How many different brands were associated with these citations.

  • Most Appearances – The domain that appeared most frequently.

Charts

In this section you will see charts for:

  • Top 20 Citations by Domain

  • Daily Mentions by Top Domain

  • Brand Distribution by Unique Citation Reference URLs

  • Brand Distribution by Total Citation References

  • Citation Category Distribution

  • Category Distribution Over Time

You can click on any bar (e.g. health.com) to filter the entire page by that domain. Once filtered, the list below updates to show:

Domain overview

Below the chart, the Domain Overview breaks down all the domains where citations were found, the number of search terms, brands, and URLs associated with each domain, and how recently the domain was last seen in an AI result.

This lets you see which domains are most active or relevant in your AI visibility footprint.

Citations overview

This section gives you full visibility into the exact citations, including:

  • The search term that triggered the AI-generated result.

  • The brand(s) mentioned in connection with the citation.

  • The AI model that generated the result (e.g. Gemini 2.0).

  • A clickable “View Result” link to open the actual AI snapshot and verify how the citation was used.

This is your way to see what the AI actually said about your brand and competitors with full transparency.

Top brands in citations

At the bottom, you’ll find a list of brands that were most frequently associated with the cited URLs. This helps you understand which of your competitors are benefiting from high-authority sources and how your own brand stacks up in terms of linked authority.

If you see a domain that’s consistently cited and it’s not mentioning your brand — you might consider outreach or content partnerships. Getting featured or referenced on these high-frequency domains could improve your brand’s visibility in LLM-generated content.
